Not the Cala Murta You're Thinking Of

Travellers must distinguish this small cove from the larger, better-known pebble beach of the same name on the Formentor Peninsula in northern Mallorca. Porto Cristo's localised Cala Murta is a tiny, rugged rocky cove measuring only five to ten metres wide, tucked directly behind the southern edge of the Coves del Drach car park.

Where Cave Water Meets the Sea

This cove is a fascinating geological site where cold freshwater from the underground cave system flows directly into the warm sea, creating cool currents that are refreshing on hot summer days.
