Punta de n'Amer
A 200-Hectare Sanctuary
Extending over 200 hectares of protected dunes, pine woodlands, and rocky coastal shelves, the Punta de n'Amer peninsula is a designated Area of Special Natural Interest (ANEI). Situated between the resort towns of Cala Millor and Sa Coma, this peaceful sanctuary offers several easy, flat hiking paths that showcase the native flora and fauna of eastern Mallorca, including wild rosemary, sea lavender, Phoenician juniper, and marine birds.
The 1696 Watchtower
At the heart of the reserve stands the historic Castell de sa Punta de n'Amer, a square, fortified sandstone watchtower built in 1696. Designed to defend the coast against North African pirate raids, the tower features a defensive moat, a stone drawbridge, historic cannons, and old weapons. Visitors can climb the narrow interior spiral staircase for free to enjoy sweeping panoramic views of the entire bay, and a small, rustic café with a covered terrace sits directly adjacent, serving cold drinks, coffee, and light snacks.
